How We Got Here - a Brief History

After retiring from my “day job,” I asked the pastor of our local, rural church how I could help with music. I was directed to their Saturday evening mass at one of their mission churches. That mass is staffed with a cantor, and the facility has a beautiful Allen organ that no one could play. I created music with a musical keyboard and computer which could be played on the organ. Using the programs that I wrote, the cantor easily selects the songs at home, save them to a USB thumb drive and plug the USB drive into the organ’s USB player.

Since the inception of this effort, I have:

  • Created over 500 hymns and mass settings, and weekly responsorial psalms and gospel acclamations, in both English and Spanish

  • Formatted the music to play both organ and piano voices

  • Arranged so all music so it can be played through Allen organ or Yamaha or Roland pianos, or through an amplifier, both MIDI and MP3 format

  • Written apps to setup parish information, select and play the music

  • Store all music in “the cloud” for easy access

In discussions with other parishes and other denominations, it became clear that my parish was not unique.  Despite the beauty of the organ, organists are becoming rarer and rarer.  And for rural churches, there are fewer and fewer “Marian the Librarian” piano teacher/church pianists.  They simply aren’t available in many places. So, I’ve decided to make it my ministry to provide this resource to remote rural churches and missions where competent keyboardists are not available.

To make this available to a large number of parishes I formed a company. I also set up the process to obtain the necessary mechanical licenses from, and make royalty payments to the publishers for songs that are downloaded.
